Unincorporated community status[edit]

I changed the status of Rawsonville from a "ghost town" to that of a present-day "unincorporated community" as the community continues to exist. The term "ghost town" is ambiguous and doesn't reflect the community's current existence. It is still listed as a populated place (unincorporated) according to the GNIS, and the name Rawsonville still appears as a precise location on several modern maps, including Google Maps. Additionally, the name Rawsonville is still used in the area for many locations such as Rawsonville Road, the Ford Plant, and an elementary school. I don't think describing the Rawsonville community as a lost community is entirely accurate. Rawsonville is listed as a Michigan State Historic Site, but like many other communities with the same designations, it still exists today in some form.

I intent to further expand the article with more well-written information pertaining to both the "lost" historic community, which still has remaining structures, and the present usage of the Rawsonville name. Any input and suggestions are welcome. —Notorious4life (talk) 22:48, 8 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
