I remember seeing Rampart in the West Edmonton Arcade center in 1986... --Zaurus 21:12, 2006-3-21 (UTC)

I remember that on some versions of the game (or at least the two player joystick version) it was possible in a two player game for the players to battle over a river or a harbor. In the harbor version, each player also were given a number of ships that were automatically placed in the harbor. These ships would fire automatically as well. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find any other information about this. Does anyone else remember this? 71.139.26.198 09:30, 3 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I earned my school Rampart championship after taking on and trouncing two other players in a 1v2 match which was, indeed, over rivers. Never heard of harbors in the PC version. --Kizor 20:47, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Huh?[edit]

Castles far away from the water will be shot at marginally less, but are more prone to having places where the player might need a 1 by 1 piece to repair a wall.

I don't understand. I think castles near the coast are more likely to need 1x1 pieces, especially if you put a cannon next to a wall which is next to the coast. Even if you don't do that, you may have trouble when you have fires (from the red cannonballs). On the other hand, castles far away from the coast should have plenty of room to build around troublesome areas even if you can't patch them up directly. At the very least, this is obviously a debatable point, so it should not be stated as gospel. - furrykef (Talk at me) 09:19, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

References for ports[edit]

What sort of sites qualify for confirming what systems Rampart has been ported to? I found this and this with a quick google search, but they don't appear to have sources either. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.50.199.4 (talk) 22:51, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You could always go to articles like List of Nintendo Entertainment System games and copy their respective citations here. --Damian Yerrick (talk) 20:03, 17 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV[edit]

This article has some NPOV issues. Can we show that games like Street Fighter and Final Fight were being played in arcades around the same time as Rampart?

Phase numbers[edit]

Does the numbering of the phases used in this article (1: battle, 2: repair, 3: furnish) come from a game manual? I ask because a new game starts at Place Cannons and then proceeds to Prepare for Battle and finally Build and Repair. --Damian Yerrick (talk) 19:55, 17 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
