Hi, How do i go about adding content to Ram Prakash Gehlote wiki page? I know a lot about him, infact he is my grand father. Did try to start his page and got the deletion notice.

Because you are related to him, you have a WP:Conflict of interest, see WP:COI#Writing about people you know, so you would do best to make suggestions on this talk page, rather than edit the article itself. Also, Wikipedia can't accept information on the basis of your personal knowledge - that's called original research, and the Wikipedia:Verifiability policy requires that: "any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be attributed to a reliable, published source." I have added to the article a reference to verify the Padma Shri. Can you give references to papers your grandfather wrote, or to anything else about his career? Thanks - ok i understand it now, but i feel its important to have his work and achievements illustrated on Wiki. And how do I go about it. He was an Architect by profession, and instrumental in designing the Parliament House in New Delhi and Vigyan Bhavan, and due to his work in art and architecture, he got awarded with Nation's 4th highest reward "Padam Shri" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Padma_Shri. I suggest you write here on the talk page a very brief summary of his life and career, and also say what references you can find to published information about him. Is there a published citation for the Padma Shri award, for instance, that says why he was given it? JohnCD (talk) 14:53, 31 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
