Article name[edit]

I was one of the editors who thought the title of the article should be "Racists (novel)", so readers wouldnt think this was an article about people who are racists. While well meaning, I was wrong, as this is not WP policy, and the title should remain as "Racists". Anyone contemplating another move should read up on title conventions for articles.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 08:19, 20 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

User:Mercurywoodrose, actually there was confusion on this point in the past, but if you look now at WP:DAB, your original view has been accepted, see also Talk:Coatings (album) for a recent RM. In this case this article now mislinks to Edward Abbey Talk:Ken Burns and Ecofascism. In ictu oculi (talk) 00:23, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

RacistsRacists (novel) – Technically impossible to disambiguate by a small "r" in first position of our title space; The WP:primary topic for racists is racists. In ictu oculi (talk) 00:30, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Fully support the change, which i thought was once against policy (which i of course disagreed with, but was a good boy scout about). no harm is done by the name change, and its much more user friendly.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 01:12, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support I doubt that most people typing in Racists would be looking for the novel.--67.68.162.111 (talk) 02:33, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom. WP:ASTONISH, WP:PRIMARYTOPIC is racism. -- 65.94.171.126 (talk) 04:26, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support – Agree with nom about the primary topic. Readers searching for "racists" would most likely be looking for information on racists rather than the novel. Egsan Bacon (talk) 16:42, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong support, clear primary topic. bd2412 T 17:01, 17 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy support - can we get an admin to move this ASAP? Red Slash 02:28, 18 July 2014 (UTC) - nevermined, lol, got it myself. Red Slash 02:31, 18 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
