Title[edit]

This article should not be titled Q magazine because magazine is not in its title, which means we have to disambiguate it to be Q (magazine).HotHat (talk) 23:18, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Q magazineQ (magazine) – The word "magazine" is not a part of the magazine's title. All magazine articles with disambiguated titles follow the "X (magazine)" format—why should this be an exception? – SN▲PSN▲P 04:31, 14 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 21:20, 14 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per SilkTork: ""Q magazine" is used by reliable sources and by Wikipedia editors." Armbrust The Homunculus 12:11, 14 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Is "Q magazine" the name given to the magazine by those who own and/or publish it, or perhaps its registered name..? Sardanaphalus (talk) 13:07, 14 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Yes. One simply needs a quick look at their website to see that. Wbm1058 (talk) 13:17, 14 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
But the website shows the opposite, see below. In ictu oculi (talk) 00:30, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per WP:COMMONNAME - I've always thought Q magazine was the actual name and I think so does everyone else. –Davey2010(talk) 23:26, 14 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - On second thoughts..., As noted here despite my personal preference they're called "Q" .. Not "Q Magazine" so we should probably recognise that. –Davey2010(talk) 18:00, 23 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support magazine is not part of the title but a description: "Q is the legendary monthly magazine celebrating everything that’s great in rock and roll. With world-beating exclusives, amazing photography and an inimitable sense of humour, Q tells the stories behind the music that matters. Subscribe today… because music sounds better with Q." therefore dab style is (magazine). In ictu oculi (talk) 00:30, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Either Q (magazine or Q Magazine, but obviously the current title ain't the actual name of the magazine. Red Slash 06:12, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support, per In ictu oculi and SN▲P. Q is the magazine's title, "magazine" is just a disambiguator. Period. It's the same thing as if we would say "Rolling Stone magazine", "GQ magazine", "NME magazine", etc. I actually couldn't believe that someone moved this page – I was always using it in articles as ''[[Q (magazine)|Q]]'' magazine, but for some reason I only noticed the move a few days ago. Mayast (talk) 17:32, 22 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I would say we also have another person supporting the move (HotHat) at Talk:Q magazine#Title. Mayast (talk) 17:35, 22 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Magazine criticism among subject musicians?[edit]

Roger Waters had a tense interview with Q in 1994 wherein he said the following:

Last time, Q printed lots of mud slinging between me and Gilmour. I'm not prepared to get involved in that again.

Reading that interview, it seems that the interviewer is trying to stir up trouble. Are there examples of this happening with other musicians? Is there a notable trend of Q capitalizing on tension or creating drama? Forresthopkinsa (talk) 07:14, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
