Purton Passage[edit]

Text is confusing. Are there two places called Purton? And it says the ferry was called Purton Passage, but then says there's a SSSI at Purton Passage - so are there also two things called Purton Passage? Obscurasky (talk) 22:21, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, there are two places called Purton, one on each side of the river. The ferry between the two places was known as Purton Passage, but has not run for many years. It appears from the naming of the SSSI that the place from which the ferry departed is now known as Purton Passage - there are other examples of names applied to both a ferry and the ferry departure point (e.g. Saltash Passage). --Mhockey (talk) 20:54, 12 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
