Largest independent bank[edit]
007bond's edit from January 23 is incorrect. When Capital One buys Chevy Chase, it will not overtake Provident as the largest independent bank headquartered in Maryland. This is for several reasons. Most importantly, Chevy Chase will not longer be independent. Indeed, Capital One itself isn't independent.
