Suggested Merge with Band Brake[edit]

Don't merge. The statement at Band brake that it is a torque measuring device addresses only a small part of what a band brake is. It is often a primary braking device. Taquito1 (talk) 21:15, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Coefficient of friction[edit]

There may be some variations of the device, where it's not necessary to take account of the Coefficient of friction; on some variations of such brake devices, I'm quite sure it is to mention, which materials are rubbing.

Additionally, some of the torque goes into heating the brake components.
