Publisher and Developer[edit]

Wasn't this game developed by Cave? I know that a lot of American gaming sites have been claiming it was "published and developed by Natsume," but I can't find anything that really supports that. Check out the Famitsu article at http://www.famitsu.com/game/coming/1213676_1407.html. In the chart at the bottom, under the screenshots, they mention Cave, but never Natsume. Moreover, on the Japanese Wikipedia, the only company mentioned in relation to the game is Cave. Does anyone know what's going on here? I want to modify the article to reflect Cave as the developer, but I'd like to ascertain that I'm not just mistaken in some way first. Reki (talk) 19:34, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A lot of the time, sites like GameFAQs list the same thing for publisher and developer because they don't know any better. Since you seem to have enough evidence to back up the Cave theory, I would think that you're right. Evaunit♥666♥ 01:10, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oddly enough, GameFAQs actually has Cave listed as the developer. I've looked into this a bit more. Wondering if perhaps my Japanese googling skills were simply subpar, I asked on 教えて!goo (sort of like Yahoo answers). According to the first respondent no site actually says who the developer is, but that since the copyright is owned by Cave and Kodansha it was probably developed by those two in collaboration. However, based on this article from Dengeki Online I think the Kodansha copyright is just because Kodansha mangaka Kotori Momoyuki did the illustration and package design. Also according to that article, Cave is the "maker" of the game (they literally say maker (メーカー) as opposed to developer (開発元)). Personally, I'm convinced that Cave is the developer. However, even though my question has fallen off the first page (and thus is unlikely to receive any more answers) I'm going to wait a little while longer just to make sure no more revealing answers come in. The thing that still bothers me though is simply, how could such generally reputable sources of gaming information as IGN and Kotaku make such a huge mistake? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Reki (talkcontribs) 13:47, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, forgot to sign. Anyway, it looks like someone's already modified the article; I'll add the Dengeki link for sourcing. Reki (talk) 13:51, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
