Trimmed[edit]

I removed the in depth introduction, because it wasn't NPOV and said the same thing as the synopsis, only longer. Manhatten Project 2000 06:17, 7 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Status[edit]

The Status section seems very POV, speculative, and poorly written. I think the entire section should be removed, except for a couple sentences regarding the cancellation of the series. Any other thoughts on this? ReMarkAble 00:23, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What was once the status section (now merged by me into the Manga section) I think should be kept because it gives information as to what ended up happening to the series. However, I do see your point; perhaps we could do as you suggested and just keep the intro and cut the three possible points on the basis of Wikipedia:Verifiability?--Juhachi 10:51, 24 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah. The conjectures should go. Manhatten Project 2000 23:36, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Character list[edit]

The character list is pretty long, how about putting it on a separate page like List of Pretty Face characters, and if needed keeping just a bit of info on the main characters in this article? Ninja neko 19:48, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This article is only about 13K in length; if the characters were split, there would not be much else on this article.-- 21:48, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

However, the character descriptions do contain spoilers. I think a basic description of each character with defining personality traits should be enough. BenoitRen 18:35, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, so that means we are supposed to write a clear, concise, and complete account of a given subject, which means, yes, spoilers are unavoidable in fiction articles. Most people already know that wikipedia contains spoilers, so it's at their own risk to read articles on fiction they themselves have not read. There was a lengthy debate at WP:SPOILER on this very thing, though it could still be going on there.-- 20:53, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Then why isn't there a plot/story summary? And surely the character descriptions should be preempted by a spoiler tag. BenoitRen 23:41, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
An entire story summary is not accepted on Wikipedia. Many "Plot of..." articles were recently deleted, and if the plot is too long on this article, then it's just going to be that much more worse on the reader who has to skim through it all; an overall plot summary is generally more accepted, especially for a lengthy series such as this one with about 50 chapters. And bear well in mind, if you add in a spoiler tag, someone probably will come around to remove it before long; this is the reason why you don't see the spoiler tags used very much anymore in fiction articles.-- 23:58, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dr Manabe[edit]

It's not the best idea to call Dr Manabe "John". The original says "Juun". Unless it is John in the Viz translation, it doesn't seem right to assume. (Also posted as edit summary) Luigi6138 03:36, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Characters[edit]

I suggest a new topic for the minor characters in the manga. It can be called

,

Doing this would cut down the section and make it more appealing.Knowledgekid87 23:50, 18 Febraury 2009 (UTC)

No, if you were going to do it, a split of all the characters would have to occur, not just the minor ones (not to mention that the minor characters are even less notable than the main characters, meaning a separate article for them makes even less sense) and as it stands I do not think a split of all the characters is warranted. The characters section is simply not large enough, plus a split would probably invite unneeded fancruft.-- 08:01, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Currently the characters section is as long as the plot and lead section combined if not longer. I have found this solution in many other manga titles here on wiki (Having their own character sections). Im trying to work on the plot too long tag as I dont that as the issue as much as the characters section here.Knowledgekid87 14:12, 19 Febraury 2009 (UTC)
No, the problem isn't that the character (read: in-universe) info is too long, it's that the out-of-universe info is too short. If you want to help, increase the out-of-universe info.-- 01:05, 20 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

^^^ Would this be a better tag to use then?Knowledgekid87 12:12, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I suppose, though it's not like the current template isn't sufficient.-- 23:05, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reference Tag[edit]

Taking the plot and character section aside the only things left that could be referenced are The Weekly Shōnen Jump release info, and the fact the manga was made by Yasuhiro Kano. I searched for both though (Using google) and found nothing reliable.Knowledgekid87 15:48, 6 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That doesn't mean none can be found. And besides, a production section is missing which would need references. See WP:MOS-AM for recommended sections.-- 02:14, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I have looked all over for outside media about Pretty Face. Even going to google Japan, so far sadly I have found nothing on itKnowledgekid87 21:27, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Manga[edit]

Is it better to talk about the manga release info than the magazine in the infobox? The magazine serialization dates are unreferenced and the only thing I could dig up is the copyright year of 2002 (No months included). The Manga release dates however I found references on two sites.Knowledgekid87 22:20, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Serialization dates usually appear in the Japanese manga volumes.-- 02:23, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
