I believe it is against God.

I thought it was the singer portraying god and his cruelty through the song.

It's a "modern day depiction of the biblical story of Job," as explained by the lead singer in the extended version of the music video for the song. Here's a link for a source: Disturbed Prayer (extended version). This should be something worth adding to the page. Lyrics[edit]

Just to clarify, it is in fact "Burn me alive, inside"... First of all, that is a lot more logical than "Burn me a light inside". Second, that is what it says in the CD booklet (I know they are not always correct but they get the phrases right). Lastly, when I listen to the song, that is what I hear... when you have a certain phrase in your mind, that is what you will hear. Dan 00:34, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also hesitant. Given that there are several songs with close variants of this name, including the two mentioned and also Prayer in C, The Prayer (Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli song) and others. Oppose 1st The Prayer (Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli song) gets 5,955 views and The Prayer (Bloc Party song) gets 255 while this one only gets 379[[1]] so even if the other 2 were known without the "The" rarely its unlikely there would be a case for a PDAB.
