Power of Ten (album)Power of Ten – This is the only article in Wikipedia that has the name "Power of Ten" spelled exactly like that. Steel1943 (talk) 02:52, 10 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment. I have already ensured that all articles and templates that have links to Power of 10, Powers of 10, Power of Ten (album), Powers of Ten, and their respective redirects have been piped and/or linked correctly. Also, each of these articles now have a hatnote that specifically refers to the article Powers of 10, with itself being an exception, due to that article's popularity over the others; the articles also have a link/redirect to Power of 10 (disambiguation) in the previously mentioned hatnote. • To most people, "Power of Ten" alone in any case of the component letters means maths, not pop music. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 06:47, 10 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment. I do not disagree with that in the least, which is why I included the hatnote in all of the articles which I previously mentioned. However, I am presenting this move based on precedence in Wikipedia regarding other examples where spelling and/or capitalization makes the difference in depending on which article the user is directed. One example I recall is Werebear versus WereBear; both of these articles relate to two different subjects, but are spelled the same, minus capitalization. In this specific case regarding all of the "Power(s) of ten/10" articles, there are several different articles that are all very specific in how they are spelled to get to the right destination. This is one of those cases. The numbers article is Powers of 10, which is spelled with numbers, not letters.
P.S. If there is an article somewhere in the "Wikipedia" space or "Wikipedia:Manual of Style" that I am missing regarding this discussion, please feel free to bring it to my attention so that I can be convinced to think otherwise regarding this move. Also, prior to the work I did, the redirect Power of Ten did not redirect towards Powers of 10, but rather Power of 10, which is an article about a game show. Steel1943 (talk) 07:19, 10 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. Spelling out numbers is too minor a difference, there is danger of confusion. The mathematical term is far more notable than this album. JIP | Talk 14:50, 10 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Right, which is why I'm not proposing that Power of Ten (album) be moved to Power of ten, but rather Power of Ten. Both redirects already exist, but one has the number as a word capitalized, and the other one does not. I cannot see that anyone would be purposely capitalizing the "T" in the number 10 as a word if they are searching for the number as a word. Steel1943 (talk) 19:08, 10 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
