Contradiction Tag[edit]

There is no contradiction here. The City Counsel does not necessarily make decisions on private enterprize. It may also have taken many years to secure the promises from businesses to inhabit and make promisories to a new center before contruction even begins. Construction of this magnitude (in those days) could take many, many years, and how long did the property remain vacant before a decision was made to build a new shopping center? Was there something in it's place that had to be removed before hand? These are all issues that can take multiple years of discussion before any construction even begins. it is not a contradiciton, and the tag was removed. Potteries Shopping Centre → Intu Potteries – The centre officially became IntuPotteries in early 2013, as with most of the buildings that Intu which have been renamed to include the new "Intu" name. The centre is no longer referred to as "The Potteries Shopping Centre" and all traces of that name have been removed from the building itself. It's referred to by the new name[1], but the old name may still be WP:COMMONNAME - we have an Intu Lakeside article, but the Trafford Centre and Braehead, which have also had similar official renames recently, are still at their old titles and unlikely to be moved. Oppose. Shopping centres often change ownership and corporate rebrandings frequently fail to catch on - look at the way many of The Mall Fund's new names never caught on with the public at large and got reverted as soon as ownership changed again. The onus must be to show the new version has taken effect outside the owning company. Other Intus like Lakeside and Uxbridge have been moved without discussion more than once and should be reverted pending evidence of the new name being actually used.
