Template:Regions of Portugal: statistical (NUTS3) subregions and intercommunal entities are confused; they are not the same in all regions, and should be sublisted separately in each region: intermunicipal entities are sometimes larger and split by subregions (e.g. the Metropolitan Area of Lisbon has two subregions), some intercommunal entities are containing only parts of subregions. All subregions should be listed explicitly and not assume they are only intermunicipal entities (which accessorily are not statistic subdivisions but real administrative entities, so they should be listed below, probably using a smaller font: we can safely eliminate the subgrouping by type of intermunicipal entity from this box).

The Portuguese in Ethiopia?[edit]

Although a small group, mostly descended from the men Christopher da Gama led into that country in the 16th century (augmented by shipwrecked sailors & men ransomed from slavery), the Portuguese-Ethiopians played a notable role in that country's history for several generations, until they apparently lost their identity towards the end of the 18th century. (Probably the most visible member was Empress Mentewab.) Would an account of this group be relevant to this article? -- llywrch (talk) 22:14, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

South Africa[edit]

The Portuguese-South Africans article states their number as 80,000, which this article claims over 1 million. Why such a huge discrepancy? Funnyhat (talk) 01:56, 1 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the 1 mio., it is a ridiculous number, but we still have 300.000 in the table here and 80.000 in the article, the latter sounds a lot more credible. --Batmacumba (talk) 01:32, 27 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
