What genre is this?[edit]

Is this a horror movie or a drama? It's listed as "drama" on IMDB, but the poster and plot description strongly suggest a horror movie. I don't know, I haven't seen it, but "jidaigeki" is rather vague as a genre description. SpectrumDT 11:11, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not a horror movie, despite the supernatural elements. I would probably call it a supernatural thriller, but if that is not a category, then drama is close enough. Z Wylld 17:32, 10 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Hosokawa" vs "Horikawa"[edit]

This article switches continually between these two versions of the daimyo's name. This is confusing. Hell_Screen seems to indicate "Horikawa" is correct, but presumably someone could figure out for sure. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.128.122.44 (talk) 19:48, 7 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

"Hosokawa" was likely a poor remembering of the subtitles, as it dates back to my original draft of the article, where it was used consistently, but is definitely wrong. Describing him as a "daimyo" is also wrong. My understanding of not only Japanese history but even the Japanese language was extremely poor in my eighteenth year. Poem[edit]

"Horikawa"'s poem about an hour in, この世をば我が世とぞ思ふ望月の欠けたることもなしと思へば, was apparently written by the historical Fujiwara no Michinaga. It might be worth tracking down a reliable source that discusses this poem's presence in the film. Hijiri 88 (聖やや) 13:59, 12 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
