plagiarism...[edit]

The KRQE article appears to plagiarize most of the article from The Missoulian, without attribution. Geo Swan (talk) 17:32, 8 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Authors -- last name first[edit]

Some of the earliest references put the author's last name first... IMO it is a method that only makes sense to use in paper documents. For electronic documents, where the reader can use searching and sorting, IMO, it makes more sense to put the names in the original order. I've done that for the references I added. San Diego's Hepatitis A epidemic and its decision to close its public toilets[edit]

Wow, I was shocked to read about San Diego's Hepatitis A epidemic. I wrote a point I then commented out. I am going to look for some other opinions on how or whether to cover this. Geo Swan (talk) 04:29, 9 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Statement that Albuquerque installed it[edit]

In this edit, the following statement was inserted. I can find no indication that it was ever installed, so I removed the claim.

Albuquerque did not recess its loo within the park where it was placed. It placed the loo so its door opened directly on to a sidewalk, facing the street, a measure to make it easier for neighbours to notice suspicious activity.″

Pretty biased article[edit]

Oof, this article is pretty light on actual information about the Portland Loo and pretty heavy on including biased content. To be simple: I moved objective information about the design & features of the loo up to the top, above extraneous information.

Human need for public Toilets[edit]

I live in Seattle. I love Seattle. I love the people of Seattle. I love to walk around this beautiful city.

I also have a very short list of restrooms around Capitol Hill and downtown that are available to the public. My list of public bathrooms shrank during the pandemic. Why do I need a list of places to use the bathroom in my community?

This is a great city. These are great people. However, can you truly be a great city when a citizen has to identify places to use the bathroom prior to taking a walk? A city that cannot provide the most BASIC human needs is not a great city. A city that cannot care for EVERYONE to use the simple, civilized necessity of a bathroom is no longer civilized. This is not some comical issue that’s irrelevant as we face such huge problems as homelessness, social inequity, and racism. Using a toilet is such a core and intrinsic part of civilization, of being human, that Seattle will never reach a civilized state until everyone can pee in a civilized manner.

I am in utter disbelief that this is even an issue. I am saddened that my fellow citizens are so obsessed with what they feel is the most compassionate and correct way to deal with society’s ills, they forget about the person themselves. They forget humanity. They forget that true compassion begins by seeing the humanity of every individual.

Cities can fund, create, and maintain projects of incomprehensible complexity yet are not capable of installing public bathrooms throughout a city? What good is affordable housing when you’ve been arrested for public urination? What good is an effective public transportation system when you’re in the hospital because your colon is impacted because there’s no place to defecate? I am sitting here crying because writing this illustrates how uncompassionate we have become. From the far-left compassionate socialist to the far-right libertarian Federalist, they are failing their self-righteous causes. They’re failing humanity. And yes, this includes the vast majority of Seattle citizens today. Good people that do want to help their fellow humans and think their actions will help. Indeed, they will help the people of Seattle, but it won’t help until those people can use a bathroom. Yes, toilets must be our very first priority. Apparently, it is incomprehensible to today’s “civilized society” but true to the very core of who we are as humans. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hjefferyhoward (talkcontribs) 14:49, 17 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Text wrapping in table?[edit]

Anyone know how to make text wrap within the "List of locations" section's table? ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:03, 21 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
