Untitled[edit]

Popul Vuh were one of the first well known as electronic pioneers and one of the most influential german progressive rock band of the 70s. Some call it "Proto New Age" because their early albums predates the time were "New Age" became a more widely used term. But Florian Fricke was into the spiritual aspects of New Age and Popul Vuh's music influence can be heard in much of the progressive Music that followed throughout the 1970s and beyond. They may have inspired, but stop qualifying every band with electronic sounds as New Age band ! See your talk page for a narrow definition Popol Vuh were the forerunners of electronic avantgarde music and many contemporary electronic composers widelely acknowledge their heritage

Is anyone aware of a soundtrack or released version of the Popol Vuh music in The Great Ecstasy of Woodcarver Steiner? 71.255.64.233 16:41, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No seperate notability asserted in the article. JASpencer (talk) 11:12, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Separate articles for albums by notable bands is the standard on WikiPedia. I agree that the Messa di Orfeo article needs to be expanded to better reflect the album and its importance. However, merging it into the main Popul Vuh article is exactly the wrong approach to take and the opposite of what needs to be done Caitlynmaire (talk) 00:51, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merge. Never heard of such a standard. WP:MUSIC#Albums says:

If the musician or ensemble that recorded an album is considered notable, then officially released albums MAY have sufficient notability to have individual articles.

And:

Album articles with little more than a track listing may be more appropriately merged into the artist's main article or discography article, space permitting.

No Merge. It may not be a written standard, but it is definitely common practice. It's a stub now, but it won't stay that way forever.--Entoaggie09 (talk) 09:09, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

don't merge article be expanded

No merge. I rate it as start class according to the wikipedia guidelines.--Cdl obelix (talk) 09:53, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
