Anyone else think that calling their songs 'classics' is a tad subjective? I think that there is a little bit too much opinion in this article.

Content/References[edit]

Does anyone else think there should be a section talking about how often they make cultural references, briefly detailing some of the things they mostfrequently make reference to: Comic books, particularly Alan Moore, Twilight Zone, etc.? Hegar 16:14, 9 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm aware that Clint Mansell went on to do soundtrack music following PWEI's split... one example that comes to mind was at least one track for the "Pi" soundtrack. Were there others? Could someone who has more than a passing interest in Wikipedia post something about this?

Actually, Clint did the entire score for Pi, which was his first of many motion picture scores. More info about his movie scoring is available in his Wikipedia article, Clint Mansell, where it belongs, rather than in the PWEI article.  Tabanger  22:09, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Associated act - The Bikini Bandits[edit]

I don't know if having a track mixed by a member (Richard March) qualifies another act (The Bikini Bandits) as being associated with PWEI. Perhaps if PWEI as a group had mixed the track, it would be a different story, but this is a stretch.--Evil1987 13:24, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's not even a stretch. It's just flat out wrong. "Associated act" is defined as "Acts from which this act spun off; acts which spun off a group act; groups with which an artist performs; other acts with which the act is associated." I'm reverting it.  Tabanger  22:15, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Love Missle F1-11[edit]

I believe you are correct that the song was written and originally performed by Sigue Sigue Sputnik; however, a cover version was recorded by Pop Will Eat Itself. --Evil1987 22:00, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fancruft[edit]

The present article is riddled with unsourced and non-referenced fancruft. Please refer, if you need to, towards verifiability and reliable sources and what Wikipedia is not. I will try to improve the situation in the next few days - although all help is appreciated. Thanks,

Still the case. A special example is "[a] secret, one-night PWEI reunion was scheduled to happen at the Vileevils show at Stourbridge Rock Cafe on 9 June 2007, but was foiled when Mansell was unable to obtain a visa in time to fly back to the UK" which seems unlikely given Clint Mansell is British and therefore would not need a visa to get to Stourbridge, merely his passport (if he were outside travelling from the UK).
Possibly should remove all fancruft?

Wonder Stuff[edit]

The article mentions that Miles and the other fella from the Stuffies were in the first line-up of the band that became the Poppies, so they should be listed as past members, and the Stuffies should be an Associated Act, so I'll add them, unless anyone dissents. Former members[edit]

Hello, I was aimlessly trawling the web this week and ended up finding out what Adam and Richard are up to these days: Richard is a music technology lecturer, and Adam flogged a load of his PWEI gear in 2012 to order - so he said - to buy a caravan his wife wouldn't pay for. I also know Fuzz has done a fair amount of TV presenting.

Is this notable enough to add? I can't see a place to put it in other than the "disbanded" section. I also like the Poppies so much that if I thought the people in question would rather not have this information about them shared then I'd rather not share it - though I can cite it all from public sources, so it's not like I'm doing private research here.

Any thoughts gratefully received.

(I'll put it somewhere else, but surely Rob Gordon should have a page?)
