Article should be... better? so lets get started

Hi I don't really do much Wikipedia editing and I don't know much about tagging articles... but just a couple things I noticed stood out to me as really out of line with other articles on Wikipedia. Maybe I'm way off base, but here are a couple things that seem like they'd go against some kind of guidelines:

  • There is a "Visual History of point of sale systems" section which appears to me just to be an advertisement from Booker.
  • This sentence: "With the rise of POS system hacking which an Internet search will readily confirm, developers nowadays have to think also about the security aspect of the system, thus compounding the complexity of a POS system." literally just links to a google search of "POS System Hacking" which seems really dumb.

Anyway, maybe I should be brave and edit these things myself, but for now I'm just writing in the talk page that I think this article could use a look-over by someone. CoupleK (talk) 19:40, 10 August 2016 (UTC)

Agreed. Considering that this article is accessed[1] quite a bit (measuring notability by access frequency is not a good idea in general, but whatever), I understand your concern. I did a little bit of editing (mostly cutting). The whole article is a little bit shabby. Perhaps all Google links ought to be removed after finding better sources. And, this article is very important in WikiProject Retailing. Perhaps there are so many errors that people shy away from the "edit" butan. What do you propose to make it better? It is one thing to criticize an article. But do you have any ideas? I really do not see a problem since product literature is the often the only reliable information on POS Technology. Sunshine Warrior04 (talk) 00:22, 27 July 2017 (UTC)
