This article needs some serious cleaning up. I can't be bothered, so I'm not the man to undertake it. In fact, you never saw me looking at this page. I'm not gay. Really. --195.92.67.75 29 June 2005 00:49 (UTC)

Thanks for going to the trouble to point that out. The articles for all the Pooh characters need to be cleaned up and standardized. --Dan East June 29, 2005 03:40 (UTC)
Yes, I noticed. I was going to {{attention}} them, before realising there were too many. And that I still can't be bothered. --195.92.67.78 29 June 2005 12:45 (UTC)

Moved Slesinger and Disney related Content[edit]

You can find it at Disney representation of the Milne character "Piglet"Lkinkade 00:59, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not yet convinced it's a good idea to split that off- the main article on the character could easily compare and contrast Milne's original with the Disney or other treatments. Friday (talk) 16:33, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion of this is at Talk:Winnie-the-Pooh, for lack of a better location. Powers T 18:45, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Picture[edit]

Can we get an original Ernest Shepard drawing of Piglet from anywhere?...I hate to see only the Disney version there.Shadowcrow 04:08,, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

I've uploaded a picture, having alerted the rights experts at Wikipedia (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Media_copyright_questions#Illustration_of_Piglet_by_E.H._Shepard); I'm no expert, but if anyone can help securing the same status for this as the Disney pic currently enjoys, I think that would make a lot of E.H. Shepard fans very happy. Alfietucker (talk) 23:11, 8 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Piglet22.JPG[edit]

Image:Piglet22.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Censorship?[edit]

At best incredibly insignificant, at worst a non-issue. Why is it here? I'm removing it. -- Mttll (talk) 13:50, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well, news sources reported on it, which is how we judge notability of an issue. Powers T 12:44, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File:Piglet EHShepard.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion[edit]

An image used in this article, File:Piglet EHShepard.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion for the following reason: All Wikipedia files with unknown copyright status

What should I do?

Don't panic; you should have time to contest the deletion (although please review deletion guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to provide a fair use rationale
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale, then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Deletion Review

"Voiced by"[edit]

I don't think it's appropriate to list immediately under the bare information that the character was created by AA Milne the voice actors who portrayed Pigler for Disney films without explaining the Disney connection. While this might be 'taken as read' by those (predominantly North Americans) whose knowledge of the character begins and ends with Disney, it doesn't take into account that a) Piglet has been dramatized in productions other than Disney; b) the voices listed have absolutely nothing to do with AA Milne's original concept. Unless some good reasons can be given here for keeping the voices in the box, I propose returning them to an info box in the "Disney adaptations" section of the article. The original toy belonging to Christopher Robin Milne[edit]

The article could do with a section on the actual Piglet toy in Christopher Robin Milne's collection,as per the Origin section of the Winnie-The-Pooh article. Apparently the Piglet toy was permanently mislaid at Ashdown Forest.62.190.148.115 (talk) 13:34, 15 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, it's Roo that's missing. Piglet is still with the others in that museum in New York.62.190.148.115 (talk) 16:01, 15 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected edit request on 19 May 2019[edit]

Please change "trespassers will be persecuted" to "trespassers will be prosecuted". The former is somewhat hilarious. The latter is correct. Ratunderpaper (talk) 19:02, 19 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Done, thanks! :) – Þjarkur (talk) 20:14, 19 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
