Deletion?[edit]

There is next to nothing in this article that appears notable. Should this article be a candidate for deletion? MapReader (talk) 18:06, 1 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Is there anything in the article justifying notability? MapReader (talk) 12:23, 29 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

ODBC-Wauchope[edit]

Is this the same Piers Wauchope who wrote articles in the ODBC? For example:

  • Wauchope, Piers (2004). "Mesmes, Jean-Antoine de, Count Avaux in the French nobility (1640–1709)". In Matthew, Colin; Harrison, Brian (eds.). Oxford Dictionary of National Biography. Vol. 37. New York: Oxford University Press. pp. 938–939. ISBN 0-19-861387-3.

Another question. how is Wauchope correctly pronounced? Best regards, Johannes Schade (talk) 05:26, 6 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Everybody I knew pronounced it Walk-Up. Whether he called himself Walk-Up, War-Cope or War-Chope, I couldn't say. (I knew him slightly over 15 years ago) Paulturtle (talk) 18:40, 23 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Or, the key question, how is this article notable? MapReader (talk) 06:52, 6 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Notable because the other party leaders in Camden are notable, as no doubt are the leaders of UKIP.Paulturtle (talk) 18:40, 23 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Scottish candidacy[edit]

I remember him joking back in 2001 that he had once been the Tory candidate for a Scottish parliamentary seat and had "visited it on a number of occasions". No idea if this was in 1987, 1992 or 1997, or even if he continued to be the candidate until the election itself.Paulturtle (talk) 18:45, 23 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
