Merge with Picardy[edit]

Isn't Picardy and Picardie the same place and the two articles need to be merged? -- 4.240.78.237 (talk) 19:21, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nope. This is a region while the other is a historical province. They are somewhat different. See the talk on the other page as well. Smash bros master (talk) 22:35, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

extent[edit]

I know that the region includes part of historical Ile-de-France, but there are also parts of the historical Picardy that are not part of the region - the Boulonnais and the eastern part of the historical picardy are in Nord-Pas-de-Calais and Champagne-Ardenne respectively. Should this be noted in the "history" section? john k (talk) 22:58, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Merge redux[edit]

I know there was a merge proposal a few years ago, but I really think it needs to be discussed again. As a reader, it's incredibly confusing to a) notice and b) figure out the difference between a historical region and a current one (as evidenced by the fact that I began editing this article thinking it was woefully narrow in scope and only hours later realized there's another Picardy article... but I still can't figure out where some of the historical facts should go!). Both articles are fairly short, and I think they would both be improved by being combined into one complete GA- or FA-length article. If anyone cares and strongly objects, please speak up!
