Origins of her name?[edit]

When I was watching her during the Nagano Olympics, I heard the announcers saying that she got her name from the childhood game "peekabo". Her mother and father had not figured out a name for her for several months and she seemed to smile and giggle alot when they played peekaboo with her, and so they named her Picabo. Just what I heard from the announcers. Maybe someone could validate this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.69.142.49 (talk) 18:01, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

My recall from that time is that the talking heads said she was named after the town of Picabo as stated in our article.Rhodesisland (talk) 11:11, 12 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
She picked it herself: http://people.howstuffworks.com/no-name1.htm —Precedingunsigned comment added by 96.224.74.163 (talk) 20:14, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Fun fact: I remember hearing during that Olympics that her brother, Baba (or Babah?) was also allowed to choose his own name. Thank you, Wordreader (talk) 01:06, 9 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

What movie[edit]

RE "A feature film based on Street's life story is in development as of late 2009, written by Eric Preston with director Charles Winkler slated to direct, and produced by Jeff Luini and Richard Weiner. Filming will begin in 2010 in Argentina." I can't find such a movie being made and this sentence "will begin in 2010"....uh, that's 6 years ago. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.10.211.236 (talk) 11:43, 13 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Street arrested, then charges dropped.[edit]

I just read a brief item where she was arrested for pushing her father down the basement stairs during an argument and then locking him in there while she called the police. Charges were eventually dropped. You might consider adding this to the article. Thank you for your time, Wordreader (talk) 01:09, 9 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Name is used in a non insulting joke[edit]

I came up with this joke myself when she had won her gold medal. The local hospital is building a new Wing and they're naming it after her. It will be called picabo i.c.u.. 2600:100B:B1C1:B251:29CF:1E57:83B1:D033 (talk) 03:32, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
