Vandalism

Hey! Did two big sweep-throughs of corrections. I have rollback privileges enabled but I didn't know who had made all of the edits.

  • (Correcting LOTS of vandalism: Kevin Jonas is not involved. Removed references to Ferb as 'Doug' (ha...ha...not). Stacy voiced by Hu, not Lavato.The target audience is wider than 2-10. etc)
  • (Correcting more vandalism. Changed 'Doug' back to Ferb and 'Douggenshmirtz' back to the actual name. Removed constant references to 'paramount pictures logo', Adrienne Bailon & Hannah Montana(Candace))

Someone clearly thinks they're hilarious (congratulations, you're a tool with no life...). Tried to use find and replace as well as skimming through, but if you notice anything else, please correct it. And who plays Perry the Platypus? Someone had changed it to 'Tim Allen' but I know this obviously isn't correct and don't have a source for who ACTUALLY plays him. Please add it in if you know. Thanks! "Running Gags"

"Running Gags" is not someting that needs a whole section for. Maybe a line in trivia like "The show follows a similar format in almost every episode" or something would be fine, but this article is going crapshit because of running gags. (24.47.88.195 (talk) 15:29, 29 February 2008 (UTC))

I thought they were related since they remsemble one another, but I would not think Disney would do such a thing. Most cartoons do not show both parents when they are divoiced and when they do, one parent isn't a badguy. Yeah, so, all of their last names were basically said, like, scattered around then series:

  • Phineas: "Lawn Gnome Beach Party of Terror", surf board contest announcer called him "Phineas Flynn" when he started surfing.
  • Ferb: "A Hard Day's Knight" , His Grandparents(his Dad's parents) are referred to as having the last name "Fletcher" (Note: Before that, someone put it on the internet, most likely one of the creators or the channel).
  • Candace: "A Hard Day's Knight", Like said above, Candace introduces herself as having this last name. Even though Phineas' last name was said to be Flynn in "Lawn Gnome Beach Party of Terror" and "Raging Bully", this is still considered the first time her last name is said. Also, in the episode "The Lake Nose Monster," the head life guard says "So this is the famous Candace Flynn."
  • Isabella: "It's a mud, mud, mud world", The TV announcer addresses her a "Little Isabella Garcia-Shapiro...", and also in "Mom's Birthday", her mom is called "Mrs. Garcia-Shapiro" by Phineas on the phone.
  • Buford: Actually never said so far to be "Van Stomm", but it was leaked onto the internet probably by a channel worker or crew member. Actually, It was said in the "Lawn Gnome Beach Party of Terror by the surf contest announcer. It is a Dutch name that roughly translates as 'of the stupid' The source is me, Jeff "Swampy" Marsh, the co-creator.
  • Baljeet: Same thing, "Patel" was never said, just leaked onto internet.

Cleanup

I agree. Half of the info in the article isn't relavent to the programme. For fans of the show I can understand that it is nice to have a collection of information, like songs and detailed character summaries but if you want to find out about the show, it isn't relavent. Firstly, the character summaries are too long, I think maybe there should only be summaries for the main characters. The cast section is irrelavent because the information is already in the characters section. To be honest, the 'running gags and catchphrases' and a list of 'ferb's lines' really aren't relavent. Thanks for taking of the age of Phineas, again. If Swampy Marsh says his age isn't stated, then it isn't. Personally, I would think he is a little older than most of the edits say he is, I would say he's between 10-12. He's just too aware to be 8.

False Information

I attempted to correct all mistakes on this page, but, i failed. Mistakes on this page include:

Doug Funnie In the article, ferb is actually listed as Doug, when in fact thats incorrect

Candace

Although Hannah is a show on the same network, she isn't involved with this show whatsoever. Candace is voiced by ashley tisdale.

Isabella

Adrienne Bailon is also involved with disney channel such as the cheetah girls movies and the group as well. But, shes not a voice actor in this show... Isabella is voiced by alyson stoner..

Use of "Ferb" on "Rocko's Modern Life"

Years before this show, "Rocko's Modern Life" used the name "Ferb" as a running gag of sorts. Merger proposal

The individual character pages do not have significant coverage of the characters in reliable secondary sources per Wikipedia:Notability (fiction)#Elements of fiction. Not to insult anyone, but I believe that they should be merged. There is just not enough information to keep them seperate at this time. As the show progresses, and the public recieves more information, then we can have seperate pages for them. It is just a sugestion and if there is an overwelming public support for keeping the pages separate at this time, then we do not need to listen to my suggestion. But still, I vote for a merger. The articles are well written, if anything I think that we should just cut the character info here. The pages detail relationships to the other characters, which seems more organized than cramming everything into a long paragraph. Why not just keep each character's info to a couple of sentances at most, with all the other information that isn't already in the articles being transferred over there? I think the main problem is we are forgetting the fact that Wiki it is supposed to be an encyclopedia, not a collection of fan pages. There's no purpose in splitting the information in a lot of different pages instead of condensing all relevant information in one single page. Before the main page was cleaned, the phrase "Phineas and Ferb are stepbrothers" was present in almost every paragraph, and the names of the cast members were continuously repeated along the text making the pages almost unreadable. You don't need 10 different pages to repeat the same information over and over. As a suggestion, take a look at the pages of El Tigre and Mucha Lucha. All pertinent information it is condensed as much as possible in one single page. Note most of the information included on the characters individual pages has been incorporated in the main page already, so those additional pages are not longer needed. I am going to close this discussion as merge the character articles into this article since none of the keep arguments address the notability concerns I brought up. In over three months only one article, Candace Flynn, added a reliable secondary source to prove Ashley Tisdale voices the character. This either shows that no one is willing to find the sources to provide notability or there are no sources to provide notability. The separate articles are filled with plot and since the major character points are already listed in this article, there is really nothing to merge to this article so it is really a series of redirects. Hidden Appearances

A lot of the Hidden Appearances have to do with songs from one episode appearing in another episode (like Gitchie Gitchie Goo and I'm Lindana and I Wanna Have Fun). Confusion

Okay, folks. I've been watching this show a lot lately, but I have a question. When our local TV guide was previewing it on the back cover, they said that Phineas and Ferb were "stepbrothers", and this article backs it up. However, I think the writers of the show made a goof with their math. It's stated in the episode "Dude, We're Getting the Band Back Together" that their first kiss was as a Luve Handel concert, but I also believe they said that the band was out in the eighties and/or nineties. This wouldn't make sense as all, seeing as Candace is only fourteen, and if this takes in present time, that would mean she was born in 1993-1994, depending on when her birthdate falls...yet Ferb has an English accent, while the others don't. ...oh, my brain aches. Look, so the great Dan Povenmire said on a Youtube comment answer to one of my questions about the same thing that the way they see it is Love Handel was an 90s Hair Band. So, when the unmarried Linda and Lawrence were there, baby Phineas and toddler Candace were at home with their respected babysitters, while lil' baby Ferb did the same. Since Candace is 15 and was born on July 11th(since that was the airdate for her birthday episode), so it would make sense for her birthday to be in 1993. As for the other questions, like I said, the Phineas and Ferb were all ready babies, and Candace was a toddler, so they all had all ready gained whatever kind of speech pattern or accent from their birth parents. And finally, the band concert was probably in mid-to-late 90s, thus the fact that Phineas and Ferb were babies, while Candace was a toddler. (I know I repeated th same things a lot, but I wanted to make sure you understand. And you should read much into things like this, because curiosity leads to clarification, which leads to a happy life. Hope you understand things now.) S. Phineas and Doug?

On the sentence that says "Phineas and Doug will return for a second season", that should be changed to Phineas ond Ferb.

I'll be editing that stuff. Whoever changed that must not think Phineas and Ferb is real. It is very real, and actually once somebody edited 5 episodes of Phineas and Ferb! And now someone deleted all of them! Phineas and Ferb on Wikipedia is falling down, and we need MAJOR help! Trivia

I wouldn't have a problem with deleting the entire trivia/goofs/whatev section. it really doesn't contribute to the article, with the exception of the first one about what Phineas and Ferb is a play on. Deleting all that information might be a little drastic to some people, and I usually like trivia sections, so i'm willing to be convinced that it should stay before I go ahead and erase most of them. Spanish Cast

Shouldn't that be on the SPANISH article, not on the english article. I understand that people who speak spanish read english too, but I still think it shouldn't be on the english article, it doesn't make any sense at all. This is partially in response to the above section about Candace's subplots. I rehauled both sections (wrote them from scratch) in an attempt to hopefully clarify what is trying to be said. Great Enthusiasm, but poor English

It's great to see the interest people have in this article, and I like seeing their contributions to the page. However, please attempt to use proper English, such as capital letters to start sentences, periods to end them, commas in the appropriate places. Danville

So, where is Danville. The page used to say Danville, Ill., but now says Danville TX. Danville, Illinois seems more likely. When Dr Doof slides his magnifying glass over the area in one of the episodes, it is in the midwest somewhere. There is a real Danville, Illinois, but I don't know of any real Danville, Texas. There are other real Danvilles in the U.S., in several states. Now it is South Dakota. I doubt that. The reasoning that it only takes them a matter of minutes to get to Mount Rushmore doesn't prove this, as it only takes them a matter of seconds to get from South Dakota to Paris in the same episode and sequence. Most things don't happen in real time in a cartoon, or tv in general. One thing that is known from the series is that Danville has a population of 241,000, as seen the cattle herding episode. The biggest town in South Dakota is Sioux Falls, with a population of 142,000. This is looked into too much. When making a cartoon, you may say "Hey, I like the name Danville for the city these characters live in." You don't have to pick out a real location for a city. Unless it is blatantly stated in the show (which I doubt) I don't think we can really go by clues (population, drive-time, or otherwise). QAE 02:07, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

I'll just put in here that she is MOST LIKELY 15. According to the episode with Kermillian's Comet, which comes about every 73 years (if I recall correctly), at the end of the episode she tells Phineas and Ferb something along the lines of, "Just wait, when I'm 88 you're so busted!" Buford Van Stomm. It translates roughly from Dutch as "of the stupid".

Mom finds out

-Was- there an episode where their Mom finds out they put on some kind of huge nonsense every day? If so (A) please tell me and (B) it should be added into the article because it is important in the context of the whole deal. Lots42 (talk) 03:14, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

Yes there is an episode, At Last, where candace gets linda to see Phineas and ferb when thay converted linda's car into 'The Flying Car of the Future... Today!' (not sure if i got the car name right). Anyway, linda finally realises candace was right, and then lawrence admits he knew nothing of what happened. Then Phineas finds 'Bolt Number 473 (again not so sure)', and then just as the dad says at least no harm was done, the tower they used as a port for the rocket car crashes onto their house. Then linda sends phineas and ferb to 'smile away', a school where they are 'stripped of creativity (and other stuff) and taught discipline (and other stuff - again, not so sure, an't remember everything). They encounter Baljeet, who came there because his summer school grades were too high, saying "any school will do for me!" After that, Candace does some stuff (horesriding, gliding) with Jeremy and Stacy. Then Candace realises how bored she is without Phineas and Ferb, and goes with Jeremy to rescue them. When linda and lawrence receive a letter from council asking for Phineas and ferb's opinion on a council issue (it is revealed they have seats in the local council), they realise they have been too hard on Phineas and Ferb and go to get them from Smile Away. Meanwhile, at 'Smile Away', Phineas and Ferb have been brainwashed, and are now monotonous statue ,like figures who only repeat lines seared into their brain byt smile away. When Candace and Jeremy get there, Candace disguises herself as Morty Williams (tv reporter) to get in, where she grabs Phineas and ferb, and takes them outside to the cliff where she crashed the rocke t car to get them to fix it. But phineas and ferb just repeat lines from smile away. Then when candace makes an emotional comment, the boys come back, and when the counsellor is about to get them, a giant spider robot emerges out of the ground, with perry on top of it, fighting doofenshmirtz. Then, the counsellor gets pushed off the cliff, and Candace, Jeremy, Phineas and ferb find out about perry. Then jeremy says, "I don't know what'll happen next, so I'll tell you now (or something), I love you Candace Flynn." Then linda and lawrence appear on the cliff. When Candace talks to them, she sees they are puppets controlled by a giant Baljeet, who in turn is a puppet controlled by a giant zebra. candace says to Jeremy, "OK, now I know I'm dreaming. Although I see the zebra all the time (or something)." Then Candace wakes up. when she recounts her dream to her family, a team of military agents (like SWAT, but they had a different label) take away the family all except for perry. Then Major Monogram appears on a TV screen, telling perry, "Agent P, your cover has been blown. We are relocating you." Then Perry wakes up. When Phineas sees him awake, he says, "You look like you had a bad dream." Then Perry goes to sleep, with a smile. Josh and Drake

I removed this line from the intro "The show has a similar style of Drake & Josh." I see no point in it. It is too general. What style? 1980s Phineas and Ferb series

The article mentions that a Series from Yoram Films was produced and also a CBS/Fox Video short animated-live action film.

Please, can someone add some links to prove that information. I found no 'Phineas and Ferb' when I look in Yoram Gross Films webiste.

The interview cited as reference had zero references about it.

In 1980, An Australian Animation Company, Yoram Gross, produced a series of Phineas and Ferb educational videos, and in the early 1990's, CBS/Fox Video released a Phineas and Ferb video that combines animation mixed with live-action footage.
