Notable figure?[edit]

I don't see how Petr is notable in Wikipedia standards. What makes him different from the hundreds or maybe even thousands of others who are on a similar level as him at competitive programming? I'm a fan of him, but this article may be unnecessary.Dideler (talk) 01:23, 4 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"hundreds or maybe even thousands of others who are on a similar level as him" - the whole point is that there are maybe only 1 or 2 people in the world on a level similar to his. 194.126.99.204 (talk) 14:51, 26 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Truly notable[edit]

I suppose Petr is notable all right, since he is currently Top-1 at Topcoder, and got first prizes in many contests during last years.

Besides competing, Petr also participates in lectures etc. in different training events all around the world. Regarding all this I suppose, Petr is one of most influential persons in the world of competitive programming (and possibly influential enough in IT-world wholly also).

Please, compare this case with the Reid_Barton's page and give some hints on the difference of "notability", so that we could provide more information and improve the article.

UPD: Here some work started in Russian community, aimed to provide more biographical sources for this page. Please do not remove the page for a some time more - I hope it will be improved.
