Jannice or Janice[edit]

The name of Porter's first wife is given as 'Jannice Henry' on page 105 of When London Calls: The Expatriation of Australian Creative Artists to Britain. Are there any other sources for the spelling of her name? — Stumps 19:09, 26 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Her name is given as "Jannice" in many other places including British Council (written in 2009), the Guardian (written a few days after his death 2010 by his friend Sean O'Brien), and The Australian Poetry Library. I expect this is the correct spelling. 82.69.229.22 (talk) 18:00, 3 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of unsourced text[edit]

I've removed the following sentence - added by User:Marox79 sometime ago - "His ability to change style has been criticized as a somewhat too much easiness to adapt to social literary demands to stay in business." If anyone has a source for this please post it. Stumps (talk) 20:11, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Porter's career/s[edit]

Should some mention be made of his careers other than poetry: as a journalist in Brisbane, then, in England, as a copwriter and then as a freelance journalist?

I added a sentence to this effect, with references. 82.69.229.22 (talk) 18:00, 3 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
