Policy vs Personal agenda?[edit]

Yes, I have been part of a discussion before and what I have heard is that you and your friends do not like external links for reasons that are unclear or unarticulated. Apparently your little cartel believes that red links are preferable to external links, although there does not appear to be much internal agreement within your group as to whether they are or are not preferable. And, in the face of cogent, evidence-based arguments in support of certain external links, you and your friends rely on your trump card - which is weight of numbers - and which is clearly why you need to operate as a little cartel, imposing your will on unsuspecting editors. Despite the fact that your friends are working hard to change the policy on external links so that is aligns more closely with your agenda, the policy very clearly allows external links including commercial links. And, I have stated all this previously so I do not intend to go over it again and again. But, what I have learned is that people, like me, who do not fall into line with your cartel's viewpoint will be followed around Wikipedia, stalked, harrassed and subjected to vindictive reversions and tagging. So, I see you have started up again - and had a very busy day tagging, reverting and commenting on articles that I have worked on recently. Clearly it is time for me to take another break from Wikipedia, in the hope that you will get over it some time in the near future. But as this has been going on for some five months or more, I suspect that you intend to make it part of your life's mission to harrass me. BronHiggs (talk) 22:48, 5 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If anyone would like to reinstate these links they have my permission to do so. These links are quite innocuous - all link to highly reputable professional associations; contain explanations for why they have been included and do NOT contravene any WP policies. They are relevant to the page contents and are clearly NOT spam as has been claimed. They were reverted as part of a program of vindictive editing. I am being punished for failing to embrace a suggestion to turn external links into red links in another article that is totally unrelated to this one.
