A super-permalloy is sometimes simply described as "spermalloy" which I find highly amusing!
Can the last date be correct?[edit]
The last line of the article implies Gustav Elmen worked at Bell Labs in 1914, but it is my understanding that Bell Labs was founded in 1925 (on West St. in Manhattan where AT&T was located). —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 64.53.181.98 (talk) 15:31, 7 February 2007 (UTC).
You're probably right[edit]
Comment to previous talker: According to Britannica, Permalloy was invented by (someone at) Western Electric. Seems Arnold and Elmen published their results in 1923 and 1929 according to http://www.aes.org/aeshc/docs/smpte/movie.sound/kellogg-history1.pdf, and according to http://www.reference.com/browse/crystal/37626 and http://encyclopedia.jrank.org/Cambridge/entries/057/Gustav-Waldemar-Elmen.html, Elmen worked at Western Electric 1906–25 and at Bell Telephone Laboratories, Inc 1925–45. I don't know if these sources are credible enough or valid for publishing on Wikipedia, but at least they give a hint what to look for if someone wants to sort this out. --DavidGGG 17:26, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
Capitalization[edit]
