Objection to removal of link to American Buddha website[edit]

I don't agree with American Buddha is doing in any way. It looks to me like a clear case of copyright violation. However, given that it pertains to this case and it allows interested parties to understand what is being linked, I cannot see how this is contributory copyright infringement.

Therefore, I object to this edit and have reverted it. While I understand that WP:EXTERNAL states that "if there is reason to believe that a website has a copy of a work in violation of its copyright, do not link to it. Linking to a page that illegally distributes someone else's work casts a bad light on Wikipedia and its editors", it also states that "Wikipedia articles about any organization, person, website, or other entity should link to the subject's official site, if any."

There is a clear conflict here. The article on Scribd and Youtube, which are specifically used as examples of sites with many copyright infringements, have the official site as external links. Given that this is about Penguin Group vs American Buddha, I think it is definitely germaine to the article to link to the American Buddha website. - Letsbefiends (talk) 02:43, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
