Military Service[edit]

I've never found evidence for Charlie's military service or the source for this claim. I've searched the National Archives but haven't found any Charles or Charlie McCoys from Mississippi.

The reliability and completeness of those records is described here. I think I searched broadly enough to get around scanning errors, but he could be among the 13% of records that were not digitized.

Charlie recorded in Jan. 1942 and Dec. 1944, but if he had been drafted in between those dates, he would have served until the end of the war as I understand it.
