General[edit]

Someone changed the "stages of ozzfest" section so instead of ozzfest, they say "gabfest". Someone needs to go in and change that. I would but the page appears to be locked.

-I have removed these vandalisms as well as some others. Rmaus 00:41, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rumors CAN'T point to Children of Bodom, because they're touring with Slayer at the same time. I'm switching Bodom to Godsmack, because the rumors pointing to them are almost as numerous as to Avenged Sevenfold now.

Glass Casket is not playing ozzfest.--69.141.203.252 01:01, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Sections on the main Stage and Second stage are horribly written, They should be re written without subjective opinions on the bands that have played (The article says how the 2005 main stage bands are great except for Avenged Sevenfold, and that the main stage bands has been played on by "Great Amazing bands" or the like).AnthonyG 22:25, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

-Someone put "George Bush, WA" for one of the tour dates for 2007. This needs to be changed to "George, WA." Godsmack Won't be playing Ozzfest, as they're taking the whole year off. Sully is doing his solo project this year, and the rest of the members are in their side project, Another Animal. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.225.69.65 (talk) 02:27, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

2007 controversy[edit]

Shouldnt the fueding between Gwar and lordi be here? I beleive gwar also killedsharon osbourne (complete with an ozzy puppet!). Yeah, its offensive, but it was a controversy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.124.166.2 (talk) 17:35, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Korn at Ozzfest UK '98[edit]

Can anybody add some extra bit about Korn's cancellation in '98 and which member was it whose wife were due to give birth which is totally understandable. What was the thing about Crazy Town be kicked out of the tour in 2001. WilliRennen 13.30 20 April 2006 (utc)

AnthonyG 22:21, 23 September 2006 (UTC)I believe it was Brian Welch's child that was Born. I'm also not sure about this, but I believe Crazy Train was kicked off the 2nd stage in 2000 (not 2001) after 5 shows because of heavy drug use or something.[reply]

Objectivity Question[edit]

The article states that Bruce Dickinson made rude comments to the Osbournes. I believe this is inaccurate. When I saw Ozzfest 2005, Dickinson wished Oxzzy well. Perhaps his criticism of reality TV and corporate culture were not what Osbourne wanted to hear; however, I think saying Dickinson made rude comments is not objective.

Not to mention the large number of rock stars/celebrities that have done reality TV. He never said anything about Ozzy or Sharon personally. All he said was "...and we dont need a reality show" or something like that. He never mentioned anyone by name, and I dont think a band like Iron Maiden would insult the guy that was taking them out on tour. Iron Maiden can do their own headlining tours anywhere in the world almost, and yet they agreed to OPEN for Black Sabbath. If that is not respect, I do not know what is. 68.37.167.19 01:03, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I got an email from the Ozzfest mailing list revealing three more shows where Ozzy is playing. I added these dates to the list of shows Ozzy is playing for 2006. --BennyD 07:57, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ozzy's Solo Concert at KC[edit]

It's been in the newspaper and on the radio several times that, along with Ozzy and Black Label Society, the "two unnamed second stage" acts to be coming are Unearth and Atreyu. I went ahead and added this.

"corporative"?[edit]

is this even a word? i was extremely dismayed to see such a poorly laid out and amateurish article for such a major music festival. the layout is horrible and it really needs a picture, so i'm tagging it for cleanup. Joeyramoney 23:43, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/corporative Yes, it is a word. --Anonymous.

Ozzy Dates and other 2006 tidbits[edit]

The following information I find to be out of place in an encyclopedia article on Ozzfest:

- A list of dates on which Ozzy is performing.
- A sentence of three dates on which Ozzy is performing second stage.
- Another sentence stating two more dates Ozzy is performing on second stage.
- Information on Ozzy's solo concert, as it has NOTHING to do with Ozzfest. It is an offdate. It is not listed on the Ozzfest website, it does not belong here.
- The fact that this is S.O.A.D.'s last tour before going on hiatus. That should go in their own article, not this one.

If you find any of these things should be in the article, put them back in, but for now, they're gone.

Category:Ozzfest Performers[edit]

Doesn't it make sense that this becomes a category? Maybe I am dense but this would help navigate through the bands involved no? Kaobear 14:40, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Update: Added all existing articles to , will further enhance Category as time allows. - Kaobear 19:58, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Update: YOu know, Ozzfest tours in Europe too, added Europe wikified link. - Kaobear 14:19, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Does anyone think that we should create a seperate page for the list of performers? Pookythegreat 05:06, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Death in San Bernardino[edit]

This piece is horribly written. I'll try and fix it up as well as link band names, etc. but the sentence about Dimmu Borgir (which was misspelled, by the way) sounds like it was written by a 4th grader and doesn't make much sense. Someone with an idea of what was actually attempted to be said might want to help me edit that. Thanks. Cale 22:11, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"None of the bands knew of the events which occurred, and it is still not known by the bands, nor even by the Hyundai Pavilion concert venue." - This sounds like pure nonsense. The writer should provide evidence for this (links to a news report) or the section must be deleted. 194.219.139.59 11:55, 19 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I thoroughly agree with the statement above, and if a citation is not put up within the next 48 hours, this section will be removed.Pookythegreat 05:00, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As it is not removed yet, I'll do so myself now. -Nyp 14:38, 29 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

References needed[edit]

This article is in great need of references, especially the Controversy section.Spylab 03:08, 21 September 2006 (UTC)Spylab[reply]

Iron Maiden incident[edit]

I found that this is no where to be found in the article, or I can't find it, but It is not under the Ozzfest 2005 lineup, or is it under Criticism. I think it should be added back.AnthonyG 22:23, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ozzfest Alumni[edit]

Does anyone think that there should be a seperate page for the bands that have performed on Ozzfest? I think that having the two seperated would make the Ozzfest page much cleaner. This page could be created as an alphabetical list, which would also be cleaner than the current display. Anyone agree? Pookythegreat 19:40, 29 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A page for line-ups would be good. However, I don't agree with it being listed alphabetically. It's very conveniently organized as it is.12.72.250.212 04:44, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, it can be separated, but defintley NOT alphabetical! Say I wanted to see what band played the second stage in 1998, it would be way harder alphabetical, than as it is now.

Another editor added a cleanup tag to this article recently. I suggest splitting that section out to another article titled Ozzfest lineups by year or something like that, as I tagged earlier. Agree? If so I will copy-and-paste that section into a new article under a such title. --Andrewlp1991 (talk) 03:11, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RATM Ozzfest[edit]

Is Rage Against the Machine playing at Ozzfest this year? The System 3000 03:15, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Doubtful. They've said they have no plans to launch a full-scale tour this summer: http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=69503 216.255.35.215 02:47, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Who's the last band?[edit]

to be announced for Ozzfest '07? I thought it was Marilyn Manson, but he has tour dates planned, so does anyone have any idea who the band is?Arson5000

There've been a lot of rumours about Alice in Chains. And Black Label Society are a strong possibility, as they've been on the tour almost every year. Nothing official has been said, though, and the rumours that circulate around these things are rarely very accurate. Be patient, they'll announce the last band eventually. 216.255.36.124 23:30, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

although highly unlikely, there's a rumor saying its My Chemical Romance, but I'm sure its just a playful rumor TheHighwaySong 15:44, 10 April 2007 (UTC)TheHighwaySong[reply]

Did the list of the possible Main Stage band get deleted? TheHighwaySong 19:01, 11 April 2007 (UTC)TheHighwaySong[reply]

The list of rumored bands is really getting nowhere ><. I believe Stone Sour will be doing a different tour this summer if i'm not mistaken. Since we dont really have any sources/citations, i'm removing the list. TheHighwaySong 19:12, 16 April 2007 (UTC)TheHighwaySong[reply]

Neither Alice In Chains nor BLS have been declared the final band. Static-X is supposedly it, as their guitarist said so at an autograph signing on their current tour.Lurker411 k9

Dudes, Slayer can't do it because they're going to be doing Unholy Alliance which usually lands around the same time as Ozzfest >> TheHighwaySong 16:10, 20 April 2007 (UTC)TheHighwaySong[reply]

Marilyn Manson is going on tour with Slayer this year. And I thought RATM is playing at Ozzfest this year. The System 3000 15:47, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RATM are not playing Ozzfest this year. The person that told you so is wrong.68.37.167.19 00:59, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The only officially announced bands this year are Ozzy, Lordi, and Lamb of God. As such, they should be the only bands listed, until another announcement goes out. Floppie 02:03, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's been officially announced that Static-X is the last band. check Blabbermouth.net for details.

Misunderstood sentence[edit]

"All told the fans destroyed the ticket boxes and concession stands..." (regarding The Columbus, OH Riot - 1997).

Don't understand the thing. Ryratt 21:47, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What's there to not understand? Fans destroyed ticket boxes and concession stands. How is this a complicated concept? 68.37.167.19 16:32, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

blabbermouth is a gossip site. thus, static-x playing is not nesecarily true.

It is now on the official ozzfest page that Static-X is the last band TheHighwaySong 17:57, 23 May 2007 (UTC)TheHighwaySong[reply]

Even though Blabbermouth is a gossip site, it can probably be trusted regarding Roadrunner Records bands (i.e. Black Label Society) seeing as how Roadrunner Records owns the site.

Rotating Slots[edit]

Exactly what does it mean when the band is on the list of rotating slots? I think this definition should be added somewhere in the article. TheHighwaySong 12:52, 15 May 2007 (UTC)TheHighwaySong[reply]

Basically if there's 6 bands (just for example.) They go in order 1-6. Then on the next day whoever played 6th, moves down to the first slot, and all the other slots move up. That continues for the remainder of the tour. It just keeps from having one band stuck playing to an empty crowd each day since the first band usually goes on as the doors are opening. 2008 joke?[edit]

whats up with hannah montana being in ozzfest lineup? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.246.53.52 (talk) 10:21, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm also thinking someone is making things up for this years ozzfest lineup. I haven't seen the current one anywhere else, and have heard nothing about it previously. Siphunclekaiju54 (talk) 04:14, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yea its is...Look @ Ozzfest.com for all band stuff. They havent said sanything about it yet

Removed Vandalism on 2008 line up and added lineup[edit]

Removed petition link on Ozzfest 2008, and added the lineup. (By the way, super excited since I live near Dallas)SilverzoneSilverzone (talk) 15:12, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ozzfest 2007 FreeFest quote[edit]

Whoever posted Sharon Osborne's 'response' to Josh Homme's could really help by posting a source. Last I heard, Sharon's actual quote was from the following article sourced at [1], but it got deleted due to 'slander' (something I highly doubt). What is there currently is not only unsourced, but smacks of blatant advertising for the labels ShawnIsHere (talk) 00:33, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Village People?[edit]

Someone posted that the Village People were co-heading the tour this year. I took it down, but with the way the show has been lately, who knows it could be true... Gmios (talk) 21:44, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
