Untitled[edit]

Shumsky studied too with Efrem Zimbalist.

the "war to end all wars"[edit]

These words had been told about the First Wold War, when Shumsky was a baby. I don't know what he meant by it, and if it was the writer of "The Strad" that did not get his meaning, but surely he did not fight in the "war to end all wars".

Primrose Quartet?[edit]

I tried to find any reference to this quartet, but could not. Quartets are usually called after the first violinist, not the violist, and if Primrose and Shumsky ever played together in the same ensemble, I very much doubt it was called the Primrose Quartet. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.138.82.16 (talk) 15:16, 17 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
