Video and chain of fatal events[edit]

There's a video on youtube that reveals much about the tragic chain of events: The sculpture (Olympic flame) is placed successfully on the platform (although somewhat off-center). Then the helicopter is flying too low and/or too close to the sculpture. The blades of one of the rotors touch the sculpture. The helicopter coasts downward uncontrollably, the other rotor crashing into the platform. With no ascending drive left, the helicopter plummets onto the bridge's road lanes, exploding immediately. From this video, it would seem that the pilots' fate ends in the flames on the lanes. There are other videos, however, showing that after the explosion the helicopter (or at least major parts thereof) fell further down into the river. Apparently, that's where the pilots' remains were recovered from. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFr3aq36TAE --217.226.83.130 (talk) 09:41, 8 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
