Hebrew and Japanese connection[edit]

There may be reason to believe that the name Oliver is of Hebrew and Japanese origin, yet the article fails to mention this even once. Why was such a possible connection to the Hebrew and Japanese languages cast aside during the making of this article? 147.147.205.197 (talk) 13:34, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have reliable sources supporting your claim? Favonian (talk) 18:15, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Who is saying the claim is my own? Some are saying Oliver is a name of Hebrew origin that was transliterated by European languages, much like Peter, or Joseph. Oliver may also have Yayoi origin and was brought to Europe as an evolved version of the Hebrew Oliver by Portuguese and Spanish missionaries in Japan prior to Shimabara. 147.147.205.197 (talk) 14:01, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
