Didn't realize ocimum americanum existed[edit]

I suppose all of you who thought "lime basil" was new will be redirected here anyway... but my bad. This article still needs to be developed though.--Jp07 (talk) 02:03, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

name and origin[edit]

The lemon basil article describes Ocimum americanum as "African basil" which isn't mention here... and which seems to conflict with the name of "americanum". Not sure what to think. --Chriswaterguy talk 06:14, 26 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

pic & info[edit]

The ref given, http://www.herbsociety.org/basil/oamericanum.php , is broken, but there are PDFs on the site which might make passing reference to this variety.

The picture on the right gives a better view of the leaves. I wanted to add it outside the infobox (not replacing the existing infobox pic, which is nice) but couldn't see how without making the page untidy. --Chriswaterguy talk 06:25, 26 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
