What happened on 12 March 2014, the date after which Lenta.ru is considered blacklisted? Its editor-in-chief Galina Timchenko was fired, after which a major part of Lenta.ru team has left, and joined Timchenko to found a new Internet newspaper, Meduza. That's the idea of the blacklist -- Meduza is considered to be the actual heir of the old lenta.ru.

That said, the decision to blacklist Lenta.ru has been made hastily, on flimsy grounds and without a proper discussion, while there are multiple opposing voices within the Wikipedia community. I think that decision should be protested (although it's an offtopic for this talk page).

What it says?[edit]

[1]. When I tried to check this non-English language reference, it was linked here. It is under paywall. I can not read or translate what is says on the subject. Is it possible to quote it in English directly. I doubt it is on the subject of this page. Meaning what evidence exists that this group is connected to the group/network which is the subject of this page? Simply allegedly being "inspired" by something is not a reason for inclusion here - based on a single news source. Note that it is claimed on the page in WP voice and as a matter of fact: "The Russian group inspired a similar group in Spain". Did it really? What evidence?
