A WP:SEEALSO section "should reflect the links that would be present in a comprehensive article on the topic" - Solaris seems relevant (we have a review quote mentioning "themes reminiscent of Stanisław Lem's novel Solaris"), but a comprehensive article is unlikely have any place for a list of tenuously-connected "alien in a dream" Star Trek episodes. --McGeddon (talk) 18:16, 27 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

In fact the basic idea/outline of the show seems at least fairly closely related to that of Solaris, though the details of plot differ. (I wonder why Dune the (classic???) film, rather than Dune the series of novels, is the l.class. reference, though?) Schissel | Sound the Note! 04:10, 12 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Cancellation[edit]

I inquired with Amazon about the removal of Oasis (and Legend of Master Legend) fro their site, and received a reply today confirming that Amazon was not moving forward to series.

Yes, I know it is considered original research, but wanted to make the information available to anyone interested.

I contacted some media reporters with the information, and when they can independently confirm and report, I'll add references to their reporting, I promise. Dlairman (talk) 19:09, 31 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you talk to them, I hope you could also share with us why they did it (the show had very high reception and seemed promising) and why all the secrecy surrounding its status. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shoborotrocas (talkcontribs) 19:35, 10 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I agree it would be good to have certainty about the status of series production. For various reasons, it is perfectly plausible that Amazon won't go forward with the production (not exactly stellar reviews from critics, potential disagreements between novel author and screenwriters on further development of plot and characters, a certain saturation of similar material available from streaming service competitors, lead actors potentially abandoned the project in view of too long period of uncertainty about series production...). As to the secrecy, the decision for non-production of the series despite high popularity with the viewers markedly contrasts with Amazon's declared policy of producing series of pilots that received high customer ratings, so it is quite understandable that Amazon wouldn't want to be too open about that in this case. Yet, a reliable source is needed for citation for a definite statement about the status of series production on this wikipedia page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.210.101.105 (talk) 18:37, 13 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The recent update by Starspotter on the status of Oasis is not quite accurate. The sources cited state that Mrs Maisel was picked by Amazon video out of the pilot wave 8, but they never state explicitly that Oasis has been cancelled (as much as this is likely to have happened, regrettably). Could some experienced editor please take a look. The state of this wiki page is not exactly brilliant as it is now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:CA:DBC8:2400:5B6:41D:7E43:1CCC (talk) 21:35, 14 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Jeff Bezos' liking for The Expanse has finally killed all hopes for a continuation of Oasis. Furthermore, looking at the projects that the lead actors of the Oasis pilots are currently engaged in, there is no time left for filming Oasis. It is over. What a pity. Oasis would have had the promise to go much deeper than The Expanse in terms of emotion and psychology, and certainly would have been far better on the acting side. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.210.97.106 (talk) 21:38, 28 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
