Leading goalkickers

I have removed Saverio Rocca and Doug Wade from the leading goal kickers list as he was listed as kicking 700 odd goals when about 200 odd was for Kangaroos the rest for Collingwood. Doug Wade played most of his career with Geelong I think. While these are up there with the leading VFL/AFL goalkickers of all time I think the list should be for the most goals kicked by a North Melbourne player.

North Melbourne Football Club or Kangaroos Football Club?

Should this article be renamed as North Melbourne Football Club? That is their name, even on their new logo. They only play as the Kangaroos and removed 'North Melbourne' from their logo but didnt change the offical title of the club.

From their offical website "The decision to play and trade under the banner of the Kangaroos reflected the Club's decision to broaden its national appeal. While we are and always shall remain the North Melbourne Football Club, fully capitalising on the Club's long-standing nickname the Kangaroo - a true Australian icon - is believed to provide significant opportunities in developing an Australia-wide profile." Kangaroos website

So to me it is either still "North Melbourne Football Club" or "Kangaroos" and that "Kangaroos Football Club" is not a formal, proper or offical title. CtrlDPredator 14:04, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

The name should certainly be changed to "North Melbourne Football Club" , as that is their name. They are just trading as the Roos. Can someone do that? NimChief 12:26, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
It appears to already be done.--Dan027 12:31, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
But the link is still, Kangaroos_Football_Club NimChief 12:58, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
Feel free to change the re-directs to the article then --Dan027 13:16, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
How do you do that? NimChief 13:25, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
You can't do it because it will involve the deletion of a page to make way for the move and only an administrator can do that. But normally you would just click the "move" tab at the top of the page and follow the instructions. It's important that you do it like this instead of a cut and paste move because it is a requirement of the GFDL licence that the page history remain intact. Currently North Melbourne Football Club redirects to Kangaroos Football Club where the article is located. Are you guys saying this should be reversed and the article should exist at North Melbourne Football Club? Sarah Ewart (Talk) 08:17, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
yes, and i noticed that after i left the comment.--Dan027 08:38, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
That's okay, I was just clarifying to make sure I understood what needed to be done before I did it. :) I will do it now. Cheers, Sarah Ewart (Talk) 08:55, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

Kangaroos Football Club is now the redirect page and the article is now located at North Melbourne Football Club. Sarah Ewart (Talk) 09:02, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

Thank you --Dan027 09:28, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

can the person who uploaded the new logo please upload it again and tag it correctly as a logo and provide the source, i would do this myself but cant find the image. cheers--Dan027 12:31, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

Edit war on External Links

Over the last few days, some people have been involved in an edit war on a link. Can we discuss the fate of http://www.searchingkangaroo.com/forum/upload/index.php?act=idx/ in here? I would like to hear why it should be added.CtrlDPredator 13:02, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

it shouldnt be here, its a forum and not an official site that has any value to the article, and that "shinboner spirit fansite" should also be removed. --Dan027 13:06, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Ben Warren

It would seem that there has been a mix up with the link to the player Ben Warren's name in the "Current Squad" section. The link for Ben Warren takes you to the Wikipedia page about a long deceased Brittish footballer of the same name, rather than the recently drafted 17 year old Queenslander.

Bias

"... allowing the crows to steal their second premiership in as many years" - I don't think the word 'steal' is in the spirit of wikipedia...

"...changed their logo, mainly due to strong supporter pressure" - I don't recall this being the reason at all. Does anyone still have the issue of their "Roos News" magazine with that in it? -- Schem 03:39, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

No longer North Melbourne

This entire article needs to be modernised, the North Melbourne Football Club are officially no longer called that name, they are now called The Kangaroos Football Club and have been called that from about 2002. The artciled needs to be re-named Kangaroos and has to be completely re-written to conform to their new name.(Jones234Jones 00:50, 19 May 2007 (UTC))

I disagree with this. The actual club is the North Melbourne Football Club. While they do promote themselves as "the Kangaroos" they are not the "Kangaroos Football Club". We should revert this edit and include aka North Melbourne in the first line. Schem 07:17, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
Welcome to last year. From the Roos website The decision to play and trade under the banner of the Kangaroos reflected the Club's decision to broaden its national appeal. While we are and always shall remain the North Melbourne Football Club, fully capitalising on the Club's long-standing nickname the Kangaroo - a true Australian icon - is believed to provide significant opportunities in developing an Australia-wide profile. I'll try to revert it back. And I don't think that 6 hrs, 40 mins is long enough to decide this.

Kangaroos Football Club they definitely are not. That name is NEVER used by the club. The Kangaroos maybe, but that is far too broad a title for the page. The-Pope 02:09, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
Definitely not "Kangaroos Football Club". They may play as the "Kangaroos" but the CLUB is named "North Melbourne Football Club". --Grimface 87 06:25, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

ISSUE IS NOW RESOLVED. On the 6th of December James Brayshaw announced that the club is goin back to the name North Melbourne NimChief (talk) 16:53, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

Vandalism?

The "Best and Fairest" entry for 1959 has been changed on July 18th, 2007 from "Boh Smells" to "Conor Connorson" by 124.168.129.185, who has made several vandalizing edits. Perhaps somebody could check this particular entry. 91.0.234.131 12:21, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
