Funkadelic[edit]

I removed a reference to the Temptations' psychedelic sound being influenced by Funkadelic, as it was unsourced, and the first psychedelic Tempts records came out well before Funkadelic's first album.

Funkadelic, or rather the Parliaments backed by Funkadelic, at the time of the Tempts' early psychedelic records, was a popular local act in Detroit. I've found a reference - from George Clinton - for use in the article. --FuriousFreddy (talk) 03:43, 3 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Discography[edit]

Didn't he produce some songs for Stevie Wonder as well? Metalviggy (talk) 12:57, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Don't think so.Cosprings (talk) 15:35, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

death[edit]

Did he really die? Maybe it's just a matter of time, but there's no major news organizations reporting on this and Google News is only coming up with two links. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.176.118.107 (talk) 15:14, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My cousin Norman[edit]

Norman was my second cousin and a someone I was very, very proud of. I remember his Aunt Vera Taylor who was also my grandmother being absolutely ecstatic when Car Wash came out. I can recall her pride at her nephew's success within the film and music industries. I can also recall my mother Valerie Taylor telling me stories of Norman as a young man and their time together. He will be sorely missed by our family. Kimberly Parker —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.196.83.140 (talk) 13:49, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Birthdate[edit]

Allmusic says 1943, but someone replaced it with May 12 , 1940 and his category is 1941 births. Can someone find out for sure? Cosprings (talk) 15:33, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have found several reputable news sources that use various dates for his birth. The New York Times article about his death lists his age as 68 (so 1940). USA Today lists his age as 67 (so 1941). Billboard says he was born in 1943. There are several sources for each year. 66.69.248.6 (talk) 00:59, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
