Untitled[edit]

A ninja is a spy and/or assassin in feudal Japan.

Wrong! It should read either like "A shinobi no mono was a spy and/or assassin in feudal Japan." or "A ninja was a product of the Edo period dramatic theatre when the playwrights of the time decide that shinobi no mono was too long to say"

ninjas in MMORPGs[edit]

numerous editors have added and removed references to uses of the word "ninja" in MMORPGs from this page. While usually referring to a player being sneaky or underhanded, the definitions have ranged from a player-killer, to an item-stealer, to a drop-camper (if "drop-camper" is even a term). This indicates that there is no clear consensus on what "ninja" means in the context of MMORPGs, so unless someone publishes a definitive work on the subject that you can cite, please do not add your own personal definition of an MMORPG "ninja" to this page. Thanks! Luvcraft (talk) 18:55, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

While it may vary from game to game in meaning it stays pretty consistent within the same game, such as how those who steal loot are referred to nearly universally as ninjas in World of Warcraft —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.132.6.11 (talk) 23:09, 28 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ninja as a verb on forums[edit]

Isn't the term ninja used on forums to describe a situation where an user is answering a message, and someone else answered it while the first user was typing, resulting in an additional answer? The user whose answer was submitted later "got ninja'd" by the first answerer. I don't use forums frequently, and thus I'm not sure whether this is widespread but I've seen the expression being used a couple of times. Kotiwalo (talk) 18:49, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've never heard of that... sounds more like a job for urban dictionary than wikipedia. :) Luvcraft (talk) 21:25, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well if it was widespread it could be added. I have no clue myself, apart from the few times I've seen it being used. But even if it was widespread it would probably not deserve it's own article, but rather a place in some "List of Internet slang words", which isn't here, but in Wiktionary. Chromium ninja build tool[edit]

Added a ref for the Chromium Ninja build tool. Didn't have time to create a top level Ninja Build article. Would have had the same trivial content given here. LarryLACa (talk) 18:59, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Came here to read about Ninja (build system) only to find that not just the article, but even a mention in disambig got removed... _Vi (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 15:51, 23 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
