On the Tonight Show where Tiny Tim was married, Nick mentioned getting married on August 22, 1917 because it being his wife's bithday he would give her a present every year. After a closer listen to the interview, in response to Johnny Carson asking about being married 52 years he said: "August the 22, 1917. I got married on my wife's birthday April 22.
