Edit warring[edit]

I believe my edits about Israel vs. Gomez are well-sourced and appropriate, but another editor has repeatedly reverted them:

Let's see if we can reach consensus here. -Colfer2 (talk) 18:24, 15 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I doubt that it is possible to argue with campaign workers, and since they are not interested in Wikipedia as an encyclopedia, but abuse it as a campaign place, they will never get to know about Wikipedia's rules and usages. This article, being categorized as a "List" should contain only info on the District, and the former representatives. Personal websites and forecasts on the upcoming election should be added at the candidate's or the election's articles. Kraxler (talk) 19:05, 15 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The anonymous editor continues to remove material without discussion, or even edit summaries. -Colfer2 (talk) 16:49, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Anthony tolda is not a serious challenger. Look at his cash on hand, $25. Seriously. -71.190.171.217 (talk)

Can you provide a ref? I think he should be listed here if he is on the ballot anyway. -Colfer2 (talk) 17:10, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

http://www.opensecrets.org/races/summary.php?id=NY02&cycle=2010 <There it is, there is also another candidate too (David Dileo, Who i never heared of). Are we going to put him on too? When he's not even actively campaigning. Most of the time these ballot lines have to nominate someone, anyone. Unless these people can show substantial proof that they can compete or at least trying to; i find it unecessary to put them there. Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.190.171.217 (talk) 17:19, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Smart Voter, by the League of Women Voters, says there are only 3 candidates in NY-2: http://www.smartvoter.org/2010/11/02/ny/state/race/usrep02/ but "This is a preview of the election. Candidates will be added and may change until the final certified list of names is available. Some contests or ballot questions might be added." When does the State Board of Elections publish the sample ballots? -Colfer2 (talk) 18:18, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Official Nov. 2 ballot list[edit]

OK, I found it on http://www.elections.state.ny.us/ it is 2010 Certified General Election Ballot (PDF):

  • Steve J. Israel, Democratic
  • John B. Gomez, Republican
  • Steve J. Israel, Independence
  • John B. Gomez, Conservative
  • Steve J. Israel, Working Families
  • Anthony Tolda, CST-Constitution

So it is only 3 candidates. -Colfer2 (talk) 18:30, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, there are 3 candidates. Next time that anonymous a...ole reverts, I will ask to block him, and to semi-protect the article. Campaign workers are really beyond reasoning, as I mentioned before. Kraxler (talk) 21:27, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Recent Election Results table[edit]

I changed the recent election results tables to the more condensed version which can be found on Steve Israel's page. It also follows the wikitable style used throughout the article. Destatiforze (talk) 07:24, 25 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please add new comments at the bottom. ...and thank you for the new table, it looks much better than the previous separately listed election results. Kraxler (talk) 15:18, 25 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting Fact Removal[edit]

I added an interesting fact (that New York's 2nd congressional district is geographically the smallest congressional district represented by a Republican in Congress), but shortly thereafter another user reverted my change without leaving any explanation. Why was my fact removed, and can I add it back?-Norman R MacDonald — Preceding unsigned comment added by Norman R MacDonald (talkcontribs) 14:41, 27 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • I don't know why that anonymous user reverted your edit. I suggest you put it back in. However, I also suggest you add a citation to support it. —GoldRingChip 14:44, 27 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You should add it back, but make sure you add a citation to prove your claim or it will likely be removed again.VersaceSpace (talk) 15:42, 4 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
