According to a recent interview with Game Informer, Ed Boon at some point in the past talked to Marvel about making a fighting game. Of course he couldn't go into any details so its unknown if this was before or after NetherRealm Studios was founded. He did state however that the studio would be interested in developing a Marvel fighting game, or a Marvel versus DC, if given the opportunity.
