This page should not be speedy deleted because... --CKwarrior (talk) 04:44, 8 May 2011 (UTC)Like any other Chess Grandmaster in the Philippines which is Joey Antonio and Wesley So, they have an article here on Wikipedia which obviously giving me reason to put Nelson Mariano II the 5th grandmaster of the Philippines. And he is one of the Chess Heroes of the Philippines[reply]

This page certainly should remain, but needs a lot of trimming-there's plenty of peacock language and POV stuff that need to go. Hushpuckena (talk) 19:09, 28 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest[edit]

I added the {{coi}} tag because CKwarrior who created the article and is the main contributor to the article appears to be associated with Nelson. They uploaded all the pictures used on the article and claim them as their own work. GB fan (talk) 11:18, 27 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

CKwarrior (talk) 00:32, 28 May 2011 (UTC) it is not bias, Because the reason why i am able to get the pictures that i uploaded is that, Mr. Mariano authorized me to make him an article here and put the pictures that will justify his strong backgorund in chess[reply]

So are you the creator of those pictures or did someone else create them? GB fan (talk) 00:53, 28 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
And your response here does show that you have a conflict of interest. The tag I added does not say the article is biased, it says it might be biased because you have a conflict ofinterest and have extensively edited the article. GB fan (talk) 00:55, 28 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

CKwarrior (talk) 01:28, 28 May 2011 (UTC)Yes i am the creator of the pictures that i uploaded, and so can you suggest or site what part of the article that might be biased and i will try to improve it.[reply]

I find that hard to believe for many of the images you have uploaded. Eeekster (talk) 02:01, 28 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

CKwarrior (talk) 05:04, 28 May 2011 (UTC) what do you mean by create? Nelson owns the pictures. does he have the right to authorize me to put up his own picture. kindly advise[reply]

Did you take the pictures? Whomever took the pictures is the copyright holder of them and they would have to authorize the release of the copyright. At this point I can not point to anything that is biased, because I have not read all the sources and compared that to what is written. At this point I don't have any plans of doing that anytime soon. If someone else has the time they can do that and that is why the tag is there to alert readers to the potential of bias based on your conflict of interest. GB fan (talk) 14:06, 28 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

218.186.17.227 (talk) 15:47, 28 May 2011 (UTC)please explain conflict of interest? I think if what i had written are factual account of what happened and that i do not benefit personally from writing this article, why is there a conflict? there is nothing controversial about the contents and his picture. wikipedia is a place i go for for information. i appreciate you taking the effort to ensure its contents are accurate and if there's potential bias but i assure you everything written here was verified.[reply]

A conflict of interest is anything that might impair the editor's ability to write a neutral article. Since you obviously personally know him and he authorized you to make him an article, these can make it hard for you to add any negative information about him. I am not saying there is negative information about him, but I do not know anything about him except what you have added to the article. This is why the article needs to be checked for neutrality by someone who has the time and wants to do it. Until someone who doesn't have a conflict of interest reviews the article and decides it is neutral the tag should remain on the article to alert other editors/readers to the possibility. Did you use a camera to take these pictures?

If you did there is no problem with them, but if you did not they are a copyright violation. GB fan (talk) 16:40, 28 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • If the images are indeed used here by permission of the copyright holder, then the best course of action is to have the copyright holder contact WP:OTRS to confirm this permission; just follow the instructions at Commons:OTRS. Dreadstar 17:00, 28 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
