Normally aspirated engine[edit]

Shouldn't this article be called by the more common nomenclature "Normally-aspirated engine"? Quicksilver 20:51, 4 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

No, because Normally-aspirated is the incorrect term. 74.12.216.41

I have removed "normally-aspirated" from the article. I was unable to find any such term being used in engineering texts that discuss internal combustion engine design theory and am reasonably certain it is spurious in this regard...

I've added it back, as normally aspirated engine redirects here, and it's a valid alternate name, regardless of perceived correctness. - BilCat (talk) 03:28, 15 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

term naturally?[edit]

Is the term naturally more like meaning word nature or more like not-forced(free-flowing)?

Not forced. Andy Dingley (talk) 21:11, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

two stroke detroits?[edit]

shouldnt it be mentioned that naturally aspirated two stroke detroit diesel engines used a supercharger to achieve "natural aspiration" due to the inability of atmospheric pressure to both properly clear the previous exhaust charge and completely fill the cylinder of a fresh air charge at the same time without one? 47.156.128.55 (talk) 15:15, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
