Bad content[edit]

I deleted this content:

"Over the next few months, between both bands' touring schedules, the three collaborators got together and continued to put together new songs. One night after a Sleepy Jacksons' performance in Sydney, Steele and the Kahn brothers were discussing their new side project with John O'Donnell (EMI Australia's Managing Director) who said, "well don't just talk about it, go and record it!"[1] Two weeks later Steele came back to Sydney and Nations began pre-production by busking their songs on the beach."

Then it was added back. I thought rather than edit warring, we could discuss this some. To me, this is not concrete or relevant information. You'll notice that I kept all the factual information, but deleted that which doesn't really inform the reader. So they got together to write songs? All bands do that. It is what it is to be a band. Their manager told them to record it? This is totally meaningless. We could just as easily say that they walked into the studio, after driving there, that they fretted with their left hands while strumming strings with right hands, that they intoned with their voices toward microphones, etc. Bands that have long histories, many records, and huge fanbases can generally get away with talking more in depth about the formation of the band, but the daily goings-on for a relatively unknown band who was only active for one year really is not notable content.
