Disambiguation?[edit]

Do we think this needs a disambiguation page? KConWiki (talk) 14:17, 25 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

BSO Cover[edit]

Is it worth noting that the Brian Setzer Orchestra did a (great) cover of this song on their Live in Japan DVD? I'm going to go ahead and add it, if it is disputed or unnecessary, go ahead and remove it, it's not like there's a shortage of artists listed. --TheChrisParker (talk) 05:59, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

removed wikilink[edit]

I removed the link for Willie and the Poor Boys, which incorrectly went to the Credence Clearwater Revivial album of the same name. The band who recorded the Mystery Train cover was a short lived Bill Wyman/Ron Wood/Charlie Watts side project. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.191.153.118 (talk) 04:17, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Matt Murphy or Floyd Murphy?[edit]

Several sources indicate that Floyd Murphy (Matt's brother) was the guitar player on Parker's "Mystery Train": All Music Matt Murphy article ("that's Floyd on Little Junior Parker & the Blue Flames' 1953 Sun waxings of 'Feelin' Good' and 'Mystery Train'"); Big Book of Blues ("Later, Floyd recorded with Parker and played on the latters' early-50s Sun classic "Mystery Train."); Mystery Train CD liner notes ("prob. Floyd Murphy (gtr.); William Johnson (pno.); poss. Kenneth Banks (bs.); John Bowers (drms.)). Additionally, none of these mention Pat Hare or a second guitarist (Hare later replaced Murphy in 1954, from CD liner notes). -Ojorojo (talk) 17:38, 9 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

By the numbers[edit]

Where did Parker's version chart? TREKphiler any time you're ready, Uhura 00:17, 5 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

My usual sources (Joel Whitburn's Top R&B Singles 1942–1988 and AllMusic[1]) don't show that it ever charted nationally (but may have regionally). Doesn't look like Parker ever charted in the UK[2]. The article only mentions that it followed his earlier chart hit "Feelin' Good". His next charting song was "Next Time You See Me" in 1957. —Ojorojo (talk) 18:58, 5 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
