"Knighthood"[edit]

This subject list his "knighthood" as of the "Order of St John of Jerusalem". I have accordingly removed the post-nominals "OStJ", which refer to the Venerable Order of St John, which is a royal order of chivalry under the British Crown. Similarly, in the article body, I have removed reference to a different order, the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, into which it was also asserted the subject was knighted. Clearly, there is some confusion here. A search of the London Gazette shows that the subject has not received entry into the British order. Likewise, the subject's own website does not refer to either body mentioned above. As many Wiki editors know, there is a substantial amount of "smoke and mirrors" about the "Order of St John", the whole concept being drawn into disrepute by self-styled orders and individual gong-seekers. Until and unless there are more facts known in this case, the article should not presume other honours than those claimed by the subject. Rorate (talk) 19:31, 5 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
