Parts that I did not translate[edit]

If you look at the Arabic wiki version of this article, I skipped two sections that I personally felt they do not get covered. One of them was about some minor instance where the Imam did give interptation of the Quaran and the other one talks about his love of potery and both give examples. Also the author of the Arabic did not list sources for them, therefore I did not want to get in trouble. --Saab 1989 (talk) 01:33, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I miss spelled the title !!!!!!!!!!![edit]

Current title is: Muhammad Metwalli Aharawi It should be: Muhammad Metwali Alsharawi --Saab 1989 (talk) 01:51, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yay Admins fixed it! thanks --Saab 1989 (talk) 02:00, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

both articles should be merged, the deference is in the spilling of the name, and this can be solved by consulting some Arabic - English pronunciation expert to choose which of the two names is best fit, and I suggest to refer to Mr. Muhammad own documents that shows his name in English — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.18.93.8 (talk) 09:36, 25 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Messages[edit]

I've had a look at the English for you Saab, sorry it took me a couple of days to find a moment. I really don't know much about the Imam so I can't do much more than that. I hope this helps, Abd r Raheem al Haq (talk) 23:51, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Merge[edit]

Both this and the other article are about the same person, and they should be merged. I don't particularly care for the spelling though, to be honest. "Muhammad" is standard, but what is with this letter E im "Metwally?" The closest spelling to standard pronounciation would be "Mutawalli" - The meem is followed by a dhamma and even for the attributive "ya" ending, nobody writes the letter Y in English; a simple letter I is enough. AS for his last name...The sheen is followed by an ain. An apostrophe is most commonly used for the letter ain in English, and again it doesn't need to end in Y. Thus I would suggest both pages are merged but that the article also have a new spelling - "Muhammad Mutawalli al-Sha'rawi." MezzoMezzo (talk) 03:48, 3 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

His name[edit]

@Resnjari: Do you speak Arabic, sir? Well, I don't think so. Anyway, in Arabic, his name is written and pronounced “محمد مِتْوَلِّي الشَعْرَاوي”. The sound of the letter “L” in his father's name is doubled when there is a Shadda. The name can be spelled in several different ways, but in general, I would recommend this spelling: (Muhammad Metwally al-Sha'rawy). Peace.--TheEagle107 (talk) 13:53, 28 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@TheEagle107:, look the article as many others have been the target of socks doing pagemoves. If you want to change the page, initiate a proper pagemove discussion on the talkpage.Resnjari (talk) 21:02, 28 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
