Miss Canada 1930?[edit]

The article says 1946, but there must have been an earlier organization and contest/ because my Aunt Lillian Cleven won in 1930; only found this out recently, but....Skookum1 02:16, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The first Miss Canada was actually in 1923. I don't know of any others to have won at a later time, however there were "Miss Canada" representatives at international contests, such as the original "Miss Universe" in Texas. Nuckyblue 18:48, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

here's my Aunt Lil: http://www.geocities.com/CollegePark/Housing/6389/lillianmariecleven.htm note the Union Jack, still more officially Canada's flag at that time than the Red Ensign. Later pics from 1960s/1970s availableSkookum1 23:58, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

19th Century Miss Canada[edit]

I was looking for information regarding the traditional depictions of "Miss Canada" as a national personification, which was seen in editorial cartoons in the 19th century. However, wikipedia seems to have very little to say about Miss Canada, focusing on Johnny Canuck instead. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.117.25.123 (talk) 05:49, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Re-establishment[edit]

I have found no third-party sources to establish the "Miss Canada" title has re-emerged. Yet, there are also numerous sources citing winners of the title in recent years (e.g. this century), whose names match what missteencanadatm.com has. So, I re-added recent winners. I reluctantly used the official web site as a source, which I don't like doing (since it's non-neutral) but don't see a choice. Suggesting that the "Miss Canada" title ended permanently after 1992 would be misleading, and contradicts sources. There are several links to this article from recent title holders, so we need to be consistant in our handling of things. --Rob (talk) 22:05, 12 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Linda Douma[edit]

The original uploaded photo in this article was not Linda Douma but Diane Landry. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MisterQuickly (talkcontribs) 23:12, 8 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The photo source indicates Linda Douma. If this is in error, citation is needed to demonstrate otherwise. Dl2000 (talk) 01:05, 9 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
OK, saw the actual error more clearly, but there's room for more than one photo. Thanks for this. Dl2000 (talk) 01:11, 9 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
